Singrauli News:

(Social traditions also change with time.) (The festival of Vijayadashami was not limited merely to the burning of Ravana and the celebrations.) (There was also a special tradition of seeing and meeting with kings and maharajas.) (On the occasion of Dussehra, the common people used to reach the fort of the kings and perform the rituals of worship and after taking blessings, followed the tradition of Dussehra meeting.)
(Khatai in Chitrangi tehsil of Singrauli district as the last ruler of the Chandel dynasty of Bardi Khatai) (The number of people arriving for the ‘Shahar Milan’ (city meet-up) appears to be limited compared to before.) (This event used to be an important occasion for social interaction.) (A Dussehra get-together event is organized every year.) (On Dussehra, the act of seeing the kings and maharajas was viewed as being linked to social prestige and tradition.(On Dussehra, the act of seeing the kings and maharajas was viewed as being linked to social prestige and tradition.) । (Factors such as changing lifestyles, busy daily routines, the shifting priorities of the new generation, and a waning fascination with the monarchical system) (Will tradition remain a mere formality or will it gain a new identity through social participation?)
(There is a popular belief that catching a glimpse of a *neelkanth* (Indian roller) bird on the morning of Vijayadashami is auspicious.) (Viewing this as a manifestation of the Divine, one offers prayers for well-being.) (There could be underlying factors such as environmental changes, loss of natural habitat, and other causes.) (From the sighting of kings to the spotting of the Indian roller (neelkanth) bird: reflections on the waning of traditions.) (Social awareness and the participation of the new generation are essential for keeping traditions alive.) है।
