Breaking News: केंद्र सरकार ने पेट्रोल में इथेनॉल ब्लेंड (The central government has introduced ethanol blending in petrol.) को मौजूदा 20 परसेंट से बढ़ाने की दिशा में एक कदम उठाया (Took a step towards expansion.) है। ब्यूरो ऑफ़ इंडियन स्टैंडर्ड्स (Bureau of Indian Standards) (BIS) ने 18 मई को E22, E25, E27 और E30 फ्यूल ब्लेंड के लिए नए स्टैंडर्ड जारी (New Standards Issued for Fuel Blends) किए हैं। इसका मतलब है कि अब पेट्रोल में क्रमशः (In petrol, respectively) 22, 25, 27 और 30 परसेंट तक इथेनॉल मिलाया (Up to 30 percent ethanol blended) जा सकता है। BIS नोटिफिकेशन के अनुसार, ये स्टैंडर्ड उन फ्यूल ब्लेंड (Standard Un Fuel Blend) पर लागू होंगे जिनमें डीह्यूमिडिफ़ाइड इथेनॉल को मोटर गैसोलीन (Dehumidified ethanol into motor gasoline) के साथ मिलाया जाएगा। यह फ्यूल मुख्य रूप से गैसोलीन इंजन वाली गाड़ियों में इस्तेमाल (This fuel is primarily used in vehicles equipped with gasoline engines.) के लिए बनाया जाता है। सरकार का मानना (The government believes) है कि इथेनॉल ब्लेंड बढ़ाने से देश की एनर्जी सिक्योरिटी मज़बूत (Increasing Ethanol Blending Strengthens the Country’s Energy Security.) होगी, कच्चे तेल के इंपोर्ट पर निर्भरता कम (Reduced dependence on crude oil imports) होगी और लंबे समय में एयर पॉल्यूशन कम करने में मदद (Helps reduce air pollution in the long run.) मिलेगी।
